Diamond Pave Honeycomb Demi Parure Suite

About the Item

The term "parure" originates from the French verb "parer," meaning to adorn, and became fashionable in the late 1600s, experiencing a resurgence during Napoleon's reign. Napoleon commissioned extravagant parures for his wives, consisting of up to sixteen pieces. Demi-parures, like this suite circa 2010, typically include earrings and a brooch or necklace, symbolizing opulence and prestige. Crafted in 18k white gold, this Diamond Pavé Honeycomb Demi Parure exudes elegance fit for royalty. The set comprises a 16-inch collar necklace and 2.70-inch drop earrings, adorned with approximately 55.60 carats of round diamonds. Each piece features a bombé flower motif embellished with a honeycomb pavé setting, radiating brilliance and sophistication. The necklace's oval centers are accented with a halo of round diamonds, resembling starburst petals, while the drop earrings feature fully rounded pear-shaped centers. The set's meticulous craftsmanship enhances the diamonds' natural beauty, creating a stunning display of light and elegance. Necklace: approx. 16" length (41 cm). Earrings: Approx. 2.70" length each (6.5 cm). Diamond weight: approx. 55.60 carats total. Made in 18k white gold, gross weight 125.62gr. Circa 2010.

  • Spectra Fine Jewelry Black Diamond Necklace Earrings Demi Parure Suite
    By Spectra Fine Jewelry
    Located in New York, NY
It may come as a surprise that many have argued black diamonds are much more rare than colorless diamonds. One in 10,000 natural diamonds is classed as fancy colored, and only a handful are truly black. Natural Black diamonds are somewhat different from most other diamonds in that they are entirely opaque. However, like colorless diamonds, black diamonds sparkle rainbow colors when their light is deflected to other surfaces. In other words, colors shoot from the diamond when direct sunlight hits the stone. Interestingly, black diamonds symbolize justice and inner strength while representing courage to stand out from the crowd. The carat weight of this Spectra Fine Jewelry Black Diamond Demi-Parure Suite is quite dazzling at an estimated 270 carats. The suite, made in the 21st century, circa 2010s, comprises two pieces—a necklace and a pair of button earrings. The 17.75-inch (45.08 cm) necklace is constructed like a classic strand of pearls, featuring a single knotted strand of 61 graduated black diamond faceted beads ranging in size from approximately 7.00 mm to 11.15 mm. The gross weight is 53.2 grams. The closure at the back is comprised of two parts crafted in 18K white gold—a round metal bead and a pop clasp that seamlessly integrates with the design. The necklace has the eye-catching elegance of a strand of Tahitian pearls, which are similarly more extensive, ranging from 8 mm to 11 mm, like these beads. This black diamond strand can be evaluated according to five of the seven value factors in evaluating pearls and earns 5 out of 5 exquisite marks in size, shape, color, surface quality, and matching, except luster and nacre quality, the substance from which pearls are made that determines luster. These black diamond faceted beads are much blacker and with subtly dramatic sparkle instead of luster. And, of course, they are diamonds with unique and extraordinary beauty, exuding drama and luxury. Although they are fully saturated stones, they still have that sparkle special only to diamonds, more so than other black stones like spinel or onyx. The lovely button earrings are crafted in 18K white gold with clip-back closures and measure .88 inches (2.22 cm) in length. The earrings feature a pair of faceted pear shape black diamonds bezel-set with the thinnest of outlines separating the principal stone from its lovely pear-shaped halo. The halo is comprised of round brilliant-cut black diamonds set with prongs. The gross weight of the earrings is 11.7 grams. The pear shape is classic, and its facets pick up the facets of the necklace. As a black diamond pear...

    By Bulgari
    Located in New York, NY
It was 1963 in Italy on the set of Cleopatra when Richard Burton famously said, “I introduced Liz to beer, she introduced me to Bulgari,” referring to the film’s iconic star, Elizabeth Taylor. It was even rumored that Ms. Taylor had requested the Italian jewelry house to wait around the set with their latest collection, so she could go shopping in between takes. Founded in 1884 in Rome, Bulgari is known for voluminous forms, signature sunny shades of yellow gold, and vibrantly colored gemstones composed in curvaceous patterns. In the 1920s, however, their high jewelry creations reflected the design of traditional French Maisons, incorporating platinum and diamonds with stylized Art Deco design. This suite, made in Italy during the Contemporary Era, is reminiscent of the geometry of Bulgari’s early style brought into the modern age, with juicy floral patterns featuring a bounty of emeralds - inviting abundance, love, and good fortune to the wearer. Flowers have long been a favorite with the jewelry house, beginning with its en tremblant brooches, created in the 1950s and 1960s as well as with the Fiorever collection today, which draws inspiration from the four-petal flower venerated by the Romans as a symbol of happiness. This exquisite diamond and emerald parure...
