About the Item
Keep Calm and Wear Pearls
Striking double strand necklace of uniquely shaped triangular pearls with hexangular gold tone accents. These amazing glowing pearls are fancy shades of bronze with overtones of blue, pink, green, and yellow. Wow! The double strands are 25 inch and 21 inches in length. This custom made necklace is secured with a brushed vermeil toggle clasp featuring diamond chips. Pearls are Mother Nature’s gift from the Sea. They are organic gemstones formed inside either freshwater or saltwater mollusks. The type of mollusk producing the pearl influences the body color. Most mollusks have been assisted by the insertion of a bit natural material inserted into its shell around which it can lay down layers of nacre. These cultured pearls come in a variety of natural colors including gold, white, gray, black, and blue. Then they have the lovely iridescent hues of all the rainbow colors. Pearls can also be bleached and dyed to create just about any color you desire. Pearls are soft and absorbent so be gentle with them. They are the traditional June birthstone as well as gifts for brides.

Kathy lives by the motto, "Go Big or Go Home," and fell in love with jewelry design when she met founder Hans Stern, a pioneer in designing jewelry with Brazil's vibrantly colored gemstones, Mr. Stern invited her to his workroom, shared his expertise - and she was hooked. Martha and Kathy met while living in Rio de Janeiro and they have been design partners and friends ever since.
