Antique ruby opals cultured pearls and yellow gold three-strand nested necklace circa 1900. * ABOUT THIS ITEM: #N-JD817B. Scroll down for specifications. The overflowing heart-shaped clasp is a showstopper. Those opals display a kaleidoscope of colors depending on the light that they are in. There is a predominance of blues and greens, but you don’t have to try too hard to see that there is more. The three strands of Akoya cultured pearls (The good quality Japanese cultured pearls requiring that the oyster spends a long time in the ocean to develop rich, heavy nacre.) are well matched for color. They nest beautifully with a round look and have very few if any noticeable blemishes. Additionally, they have been professionally cleaned and restrung. Undoubtedly, this is a delicious opal and cultured pearls antique necklace. You are going to love its versatility. The clasp makes for a gorgeous centerpiece when worn to the front. Otherwise, the nested triple strand looks regal when the clasp is positioned on the back of the neck. Cheers!
