About the Item

A very elegant 13 row necklace, with an ornate, highly stylised paste clasp, set in silver, in the most striking 'rough cut' red glass beads. It is marked '925' and has another mark that is not recognisable on both sides of the clasp. The necklace can be worn untwisted or twisted, but is given an added richness and chic with a twist!

Vintage Ciner Ruby Paste Statement Necklace

This incredible vintage Ciner necklace features pate de verre that remarkably resemble genuine rubies. Pate de verre is a jewelry process in which glass is ground down to fine particles and recombined with a binding substance, resulting in what appears to be a fine gemstone! Dozens and dozens of these "ruby" beads are strung on multiple strands, punctuated by pavé crystal rondel beads, creating a sumptuous statement. Note that even the clasp is worth displaying— it can be worn in the back or showing to the side. Circa late 1970s/early 1980s, Ciner jewelry...
