With a big bold size and a big bold bale up top, this one is just stunning when worn on your MIKIMOTO pearls, OR on a substantial gold chain, but you might be tempted to just lodge it in your display vitrine and enjoy it as the work of art it truly is, foregoing the temptation to wear it at all. I have to tell you, my vitrine is the best dressed thing ever, and this one is front and center. Will I wear it? You'll determine that by how quickly you buy it away from me. But I can tell you, it's going to be rough on me to part with this one. Of finest tested, confirmed and guaranteed 18K gold, so delicately and beautifully enameled, it seems like it should be part of a Queen's collection, don't you agree? The Victorian era velvet domed presentation case isn't original to this lavalier, but it will stay with it to protect and present it in display or as a splendid way to gift it. Should our buyer not want the antique case, however, we'll reduce the price of this item by $50 and keep it for some future bit of jewelry of similar stature. Just let us know.

Very good condition for age and type. The cameo is, I believe, of black and white glass, making it likely to have been fashioned by a mosaicist or glass artist of Venice, perhaps? I'm speculating at that, so experts, please email me if you have more information for me. While I did not see it in person, our greatly enlarged digital images open to view a very very fine hairline that traverses the hood of the figure of the cameo. Nor was the flaw disclosed to us, so apparently the previous owner also did not see it. That said, this is a great testamonial to buying online since the ability to view in greatly enlarged digital images show things you will not see with your own eyes otherwise. Price adjusted accordinly. The mount is just so elegant and large in size, beautifully enameled. There is a tiny ding dent on one spot, and we've tried to make it visible in our images but I can tell you, you'll never notice it in wear, as it hides itself in the intricacies of the enamel. But look at about the 7 o'clock position, near enamel. See it? Nothing, really, for an 18K gold item this old. Very tiny hairline visible in cameo. Even the velvet box is just stunning!
