In 14 Karat Yellow Gold, with Filigree work as well as finely detailed Hand Engraved accents throughout. This type of hand-pierced ornamental Filigree work was popular among goldsmiths as early as the 1800s, pre-dating the Art Deco period [first became popular in New York around the 1910s] .. Incredibly intricate hand-tooling, with characteristics of a cross that would be 150 years older than used in this period. From a local New Orleans estate, attributed to the ornamental iron work with inspiration from French architecture, later expressed in jewelry. Featuring a focal Bezel set 6.50 carat Oval Cabochon cut Deep Blue [Opaque] Sapphire at 11.5mm x 10mm surrounded by 4 Single cut Natural Fancy Intense Canary Yellow Diamonds totaling 0.14 carats ranking an SI2-I1 Clarity .. [Most Crosses from this period also contained several smaller accent-size stones, with no predominant Solitaire stone like this one] ..
