Ancient Roman Coin Pendant in 18Kt Gold with 3.97 Ctw in Diamonds and Gemstones

About the Item

Ancient Roman coin pendant designed by Jean Paris. An oversized pendant mounted with an ancient Roman bronze coin, created in Paris France by Jean Paris, back in the late 20th century. This beautiful pendant has been crafted with classic patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. Fitted at top, with a movable bale to wear in a chain or a necklace. Embellished with a great selection of natural earth mined gemstones. The coin is an authentic ancient bronze sestertius, struck in the Roma city mint in the name of the emperor Antoninus Pius Augusto, 138-161 AD. Obverse description: Laureate bearded portrait bust of Emperor Antoninus, facing to the right. Legend around ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P XII. Reverse description: The draped figure of Aequitas standing to the left and holding a cornucopia with the left hand and a wreath with right hand, Legend around COS IIII SC. Diamonds: Mounted in a pave setting, with twenty eight (28) round brilliant cut diamonds, with 1.68 carats, white colorless F/G Color, VS-2 clarity. Rubies: Mounted with six (6) round Burmese vivid red rubies, with 0.82 carats. Emeralds: Mounted with six (6) round Colombian vivid green emeralds, with 0.65 carats. from the Muzo mines. Sapphires: Mounted with six (6) round Cylon vivid blue sapphires, with 0.82 carats. Weight: 60.95 Grams, (39.07Dwt). Measurements: 51 mm by 52 mm (2.01 x 2.44 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks, the import and export marks, the eagle head for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold and signed, "JEAN PARIS 18K". Literature: RIC-865 Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box. Condition: The overall condition of this pendant is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold and the coin. All gemstones are secured in the settings.
