Antique 18k Yellow Gold Victorian Garnet & Starburst Diamond Locket Pendant
About the Item
A gorgeous garnet and diamond locket pendant from the Victorian, circa 1870's era. This marvelous piece is crafted in vibrant 18kt yellow gold and features incredible 3-dimensional detail. At the center of the piece is a large, high domed oval-shaped cabochon garnet, adorned with a diamond encrusted starburst riveted into its surface. Six old Rose Cut diamonds surround a larger Mine Cut stone and together create a fantastic, light catching starburst which, has an overall approximate weight of .25ctw.
The deep red garnet stone is in unusually set in a high bezel and appears to float above the base of the locket. It is surrounded by eight oval cabochon garnets that is accented by wirework that weaves around them and at the base. Approximately 23 carats in garnets. On the back of the piece is a removable glass frame locket, perfect for storing a special memento or keepsake inside.
An exceptional piece, this stunning locket pendant would look perfect worn on your favorite chain and make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is very good. Garnet and diamonds are all secure and intact. The removable glass frame on the back is intact and the bale at the top is secure and in good working order.
