About the Item

One (1) Platinum and Yellow gold brooch - pendant with chain. equipped with French hallmarks from ca 1910 for Platinum and Gold. occupied with: One (1) oval mix cut Ruby of 1.40 ct. Origin: Burma and untreated size: 7.3 x 5.7 x 3.6 mm Five (5) round mix cut Burma rubies weighing together: 0.39ct (untreated) one hundred and forty seven old European and rose cut diamonds together weighing: 3.10 ct. (various qualities) One (1) natural (orient) pearl in drop shape size: 5 - 6.5 mm Platinum necklace with box clasp and safety eighth clasp, length: 38.5 cm. The brooch mechanism is of a later date, because the original broaching has been lost over the years. Comes with a jewel report from AIG Antwerp This pendant necklace / brooch is a typical piece from the early 20th century. Platinum was the new metal and gemstones were not treated at the time. He was made around 1900 in France in the style that we now call: Edwardian, this pendant also has elements of the Louis VXI style which was common in France at the end of the 18th century and which experienced a revival at the end of the 19th century. But the use of platinum, which was completely new at the time, makes it an original Edwardian piece. The untreated Burma rubies and the real pearl only confirm that this is an original jewel from around 1910, which is also proven by the French stamps turned off in the jewel. Jewel = Platinum, the rubies are in 18K. yellow gold set, the chain is platinum and the box clasp is 14 kt. white gold (newer)
