This gorgeous Art Deco brooch is circa 1930 and is set with approximately 20 carats of carved rubies in gold and Platinum. The approximately 1.25 carats of diamonds (G-H color, VS-SI clarity) are set in platinum. This brooch is large at over 2" long and 1" wide. It would also look stunning as a pendant hanging from a gold chain (we do this with a lot of our brooches and they look fabulous). This is a spectacular antique Victorian - Belle Epoque Butterfly Pendant or Brooch set throughout with Rose Cut Diamonds, Pearls and Rubies in a gorgeous open work design in Silver atop 14 Karat Yellow Gold. This is one of the most beautiful Butterfly Insect jewels we have seen. The Butterfly has a detachable brooch pin on the reverse which can be easily unscrewed to convert the jewel to a pendant necklace. The Butterfly is set throughout its wings with Rose Cut Diamonds. Each diamond is set within its own open work section. The sections are then combined into a fully three dimensional butterfly with exquisite craftsmanship and artistry. In the center of the body are four stunning silvery white pearls which may be natural. The eyes of the insect are two round Ruby cabochons. The diamonds and pearls are set in silver as was the custom of the period in order to show off the diamonds to greater brilliance. A stunning, fine and impressive antique 3.11 carat diamond and synthetic ruby, 15 karat yellow gold, silver set bee brooch - boxed; part of our antique jewellery collections. This stunning antique brooch has been crafted in 15k yellow gold with a silver setting. The antique brooch has been modelled in the form of a stylised bee/winged insect. The thorax of the insect is ornamented with an old round cut synthetic* ruby, encircled with eleven diamonds in a combination of Old Dutch and Old round cut. The large striped abdomen of this stylised winged insect is defined with 15k yellow gold decorated borders and embellished further with Old Dutch and Old round cut diamonds, graduating in size depending on location. The paired, pierced decorated wings are embellished with curvilinear bands incorporating one hundred and eighty-seven diamonds. The head of this impressive insect brooch is embellished with an Old Dutch cut diamond, accented with two cabochon synthetic ruby representing the eyes.
