Antique Shakudo Dragon Conversion Necklace
About the Item
Shakudo is a Japanese mixed metal technique that involved an alloy of copper and gold that was treated to give it a dark black patina.
This mixed metal Shakudo dragon pendant was originally an antique sword ornament that our jeweler transformed by adding a 14k gold back and bail.
The dragon measures 2.6 inches from the top of the bail to bottom by 0.8 inches wide, and it is in excellent condition. It is accompanied by an 18 inch, 14k gold chain.
The metal content of this necklace was verified via XRF (x ray analysis) and with jeweler's acids.
