We are delighted to offer this stunning antique Victorian garnet and pearl pendant necklace made c.1880.
The pendant is made in 14ct antique gold and is set with a beautiful oval garnet cabochon in the centre with a cluster of seed pearls surrounding it. A top star accent has been intricately set on the garnet which makes for a truly stunning and iconic Victorian look.
The garnet has been set with a foil-backed setting, commonly found in jewellery of this period to enhance its vividness and reflective nature. Such a design allows for the necklace to move freely upon wearing and reflect the light in all angles, presenting a mystical difference in hue of red/pink depending on the lighting and viewing angle.
Owing to its striking design yet modest and versatile size, the pendant could be worn as a standalone piece or with an array of other necklaces.
