THIS IS A WONDERFUL AND VERY RARE MUSEUM QUALITY ORIGINAL ART DECO PENDANT NECKLACE WITH AN EXTRAORDINARY FLOWER MOTIF CARVED ROCK CRYSTAL PENDANT SET IN A STERLING SILVER SURMOUNT WITH TWO ROUND AMETHYST CABOCHONS AND MARCASITES AND A MARCASITE SET BALE AND HANGING FROM A STERLING SILVER LONG CHAIN. THE PENDANT DATES TO CIRCA 1900-1930.
This extraordinary pendant necklace has spectacular Art Deco design. It is very rare to find original art deco pendants of this quality. The stunning large pendant is rock crystal and is caarved on the reverse with a nature inspired tulip bud flower motif with berries. The carving is the work of a master artisan and exudes the clean elgant lines of the Art Deco period. The pendant has beautiful scalloped edges. At the top is an elegant surmount in sterling silver. This is adorned with two Siberian Amethyst cabochons of incredible color and quality. The top is further set with marcasites. The elegance and refinement of this pendant create a jewel worthy of a fine museum collection.
The pendant is 3 1/4 inches (8cm) long including the bale. It is 1 3/4 inches (47mm) wide.
The chain is 23 inches long and is hallmarked 925 for sterling silver.
