About the Item
A beautiful enameled locket from the Art Nouveau (ca1910) era! Crafted in 14k yellow gold, this locket is square and shape and features the side profile of a young woman. Decorated with enamel, her skin is a fair, rosy shade, and her eyes gaze softly into the distance. The locket features carvings, which represent the woman's blonde, flowing locks. Additionally, she is wearing a headband, which is represented by small single cut diamonds, held in place by bead settings. Another bead-set single cut diamond represents the woman's earring, which is further decorated with a rich-green enameled border. Overall, the diamonds have an approximate total carat weight of .18ctw. The backside of the locket is smooth and simple, and features a personalized engraving which reads: "Marsilec". The pendant features a complementary bail, and would look lovely worn on a gold chain. The inside of the locket would be perfect for storing a small photograph! A truly dainty and feminine locket, this piece would make a lovely addition to any antique jewelry collection.
Measurement: The gold locket measures approximately 1 3/8" long including the bail and 1" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold or to the enamel surface. All of the diamonds are secure and intact, and the bail is in working order. The locket opens and closes properly.
