The Love Medal was born in 1907, in the Lyon workshops of the French jewelry artist Alphonse Augis. Its creator Alphonse Augis, grandson of the founder of the House had the idea of transcribing the verses of a famous poem by Mrs. Rosemonde Rostand entitled "The Old Ones" dating from 1889, a true declaration of love to her husband Edmond Rostand.
