Here is a handbag charm / drop pendant necklace made with natural jadeite jade. It is certified. There are many different colors of jade that are represented in this handbag charm / drop pendant necklace. You have all the colors of the rainbow. Amongst the colors are the more rare apple green, lavender, and "red" Jade. There are also some icy jades in this group. This was an old old piece that we acquired over 20 years ago. It was previously used as a charm hanging on a bird cage to bring good luck. Wearing the jade where it touches your skin will also bring good luck. Natural materials with good colors like this are getting harder and harder to find. As a business stand point, no one in their right mind would make a piece like this because of the large amount of natural jade material needed. Now a days this would have been made into many pairs of earrings in order to make the most return. The untreated / unenhanced natural jade is translucent. Please refer to the detailed photos. The handbag charm / drop pendant necklace is put together with a traditional chinese string / cord. It took many hours to skillfully put this together. The string cord is adjustable to more than 25 inches and would easily go around your neck. A collector would want this piece for their collection. This would be a great gift for that special someone. Bright, and filled with light, this radiant Art Deco era (circa 1920s -1930s) necklace is composed of 107 hand-carved and polished natural and untreated Burmese jadeite jade beads. The beads range in size from 4.13mm to 9.38. Overall, the beads are a bright, fresh spring green. I would say "pea green" but that sounds so awful. In truth, the beads are the color of those hard and shiny peas that you see when you crack open the first pod of the season. But these beads are also genetically gifted: they contain little patches of shockingly perfect imperial green, deep forest green, and even a green so faint it reminds me of light green velvet rubbed the wrong way so that light reflects off where you stroked your finger over the velvet and the green velvet is now whiter. Yes, go ahead and say it: the necklace deserves a finer clasp. But does it? This clasp is original to the piece. It was made by hand in the early twentieth century. It's silver and once it was gilt.
