About the Item

In The Sea coral fossil pendant. This one of a kind handmade drop pendant necklace is hand formed out of fine silver creating a setting for the subtly colored fossil coral. It is made to order, custom piece. Its unusual shape and a subtle coloring will easily coordinate with many outfits. The inspiration for this pendant comes from Nature and ancient manual techniques of jewelry making, such as granulation, fusing, and metal forming. These techniques were introduced by pre-Classical Sumerian, Mycenaean and Minoan cultures and built upon during Greek Classical and Hellenistic periods when naturalistic forms were introduced. My designs are influenced by the skill and the laborious attention to detail paid by the artisans throughout thousands of years of jewelry design. While the design was inspired by nature and history, this pendant was created for a modern living. This was originally designed for my daughter, who loves the versatility of the piece. Makes a great gift, for yourself or for that intelligent sophisticated someone in your life. ---Fine silver, silver jewelry Fine silver is pure silver of .999 concentration of silver, vs sterling silver, which contains .925 concentration. I love using fine silver for its look and texture. It is soft and oxidizes/darkens much less than sterling silver. ---Coral measures 1" (25mm) long and 5/8" (16mm) wide Overall pendant measures 1 1/2" (40mm) high and 3/4" (22mm) wide Fine silver hand-formed into organic jewelry design to set a unique coral fossil. No two necklaces are identical. One-of-a-kind. Due to the handmade and custom nature of this piece of jewelry and the fossil, the pendant you will receive may be slightly different than the one pictured. Will arrive with silk cord. Entirely handmade. I have over 15 years of experience as a goldsmith and produce all the pieces that are sold here. I stamp the metal and stand behind the quality of jewelry that comes out of my shop. While I source the coins, pearls, and stones from reputable sources I cannot certify or authenticate them and use all materials for their visual quality. This item is made to order.
