Diamond Fleur de Lis with Tourmaline Drop on 22" Necklace of Raspberry Rubies
About the Item
This fine little fleur de lis pendant was made here in our shop by Eytan Brandes in 14 karat white gold and meticulously pavé-set with 26 sparkling white diamonds.
The diamonds are very small but high quality (our supplier rates them G-H color and VS clarity) earth-mined, untreated and natural stones. The total diamond weight is 0.135 carats.
As a finishing touch, a 1.2 carat tourmaline briolette in a lovely, plummy shade of violet is suspended from the bottom.
The pendant is fixed on a beaded chain of jammy faceted rough natural rubies -- very opaque and in vivid shades of raspberry red.
The chain is 22" long, with 3mm beads, full knots in red silk, and a 14 karat white gold pearl clasp closure.*

Condition: The pendant was made in 2018 but not finished until 2020 and the chain wasn't added until 2023. (We like to take things in slow stages around here).
*Note: The pendant can't be removed from the beaded chain without either cutting the bale or the chain. However, if you would prefer no chain, or you would like a ruby chain but in a different length, or you would like a different type of chain altogether, just let us know! We'll give you adjusted pricing and options.

(The sum of its parts has proved greater than the whole; we're still using bits torn off this monster, and the pieces -- little petals and flowers and leaves and stems -- always look great when they're separated from the mother ship, but when combined in one brooch: a garish mess!) The "stem" was actually a link from a very old (pre-1900), very fabulous but very fussy (and very prongy) diamond bracelet which Eytan resized for a customer, keeping a link as payment. The bottom diamond was badly damaged so rather than trying to match the top diamonds, Eytan replaced it with a nice sapphire.
