"Eggplant Stack" 15mm Tahitian Pearl Fob in Rose Gold on Tourmaline Necklace
About the Item
This outrageous baroque Tahitian pearl is one from a parcel of outrageous baroque Tahitian pearls we were thrilled to acquire from Continental Pearls in 2023.* Continental, founded in 1966, has offices in Japan, Hong Kong and Los Angeles and deals only with the jewelry trade, providing delicious cultured saltwater (Tahitian, Akoya and Australian) as well as high-end freshwater pearls.
This particular pearl has a gorgeous, sexy drop shape but even more amazing is its color -- mostly gunmetal grey on its lower half, the upper half is darker but rocking strong and sultry overtones of aubergine, pink, and even some green. Post-Covid, it's difficult to find Tahitian pearls that boast such strong shape, size and color.
For the bale, Eytan used his "donut stack" design, and to play up the pinks in the pearl, he opted for 14 karat rose gold.
The round bale is big enough to accommodate most chain hardware, but we've paired it with a 20" beaded necklace of pink tourmaline and rutilated quartz. The beads are sparkly 4mm rondelles, and the necklace has been professional strung on pink silk thread with a 14 karat rose gold lobster clasp.**

Pendant - 33mm (1.3") long & 9.6 grams
Tourmaline/Quartz Chain - 20" long, 4mm thick & 11.6 grams
Necklace (Pendant + Chain) - 21.2 grams
The skin of this pearl does show some light surface pitting as you can clearly see in the photos, but it's important to note that none of the pitting is discolored (in our photos, some of these little dings appear lighter or darker than the pearl but this is due to reflections and lighting). These tiny flaws in no way detract from the impact of this impressive pearl.
* This pendant has a sister -- another outrageous pearl from Continental with same "donut stack" bale, but in yellow gold; to see it, just do a search on LU1673120497122.
**As with most of our pendants, we have no problem selling you the pearl without the bead necklace, or with the bead necklace in a different length, or with a different kind of bead, or with a metal chain, or with a rubber or leather cord... Basically, we're on board with whatever delivery system you think is best for your pearl, so if our tourmaline/quartz necklace doesn't boat yer float, just contact us to discuss other options and pricing.
