French 18K Victorian Locket - 18ct solid gold heart pendant - pearl photo locket

About the Item

For sale is this wonderful Victorian 18 Karat yellow gold photo locket covered with floral adornments. The front is decorated with four small but beautiful seed pearl. The pearls are the flower heads, while a swirling line is the stem of the plant, covered with ivy leafs, make the whole marvellous. Ivy leafs represent the unbreakable bond you have with family and certain friends. Because nothing can separate ivy from its host once it has embraced it, similar to real friendships and a family band. This antique pendant was made in France during the late 19th century. In this period Queen Victoria lost her beloved King Albert, therefore mourning jewellery became more popular in this period. Because of this, a locket like this one, is a traditionally loving gift to love, honour and remember a loved one. This locket ensures you that you are able to carry your loved once close to your heart. This dainty locket is in good condition considering its age. We love every little detail of this floral locket pendant and hope to find a new and warm home for it, where it will be treasured the way it should be treasured.
