THIS IS A VERY RARE NO HEAT PIGEON BLOOD RED BURMESE BURMA RUBY, ROSE CUT DIAMOND AND PEARL MUSEUM QUALITY FRENCH BEAUX ARTS NAPOLEON III BELLE EPOQUE NECKLACE IN 18 KARAT GOLD. THE RARE NECKLACE DATES TO C1860-1900.
GIA CERTIFICATION REPORT 6224665753
The Burmese Rubies have been certified by GIA. They are Natural Burma Rubies with no indication of Heating. They are transparent.
The Rose Cut Diamonds have been characterized as near-colorless which is extremely rare for antique Rose Cut Diamonds.
PROVENANCE:
The necklace comes from the Paris collection of one of Cartier's most acclaimed jewelers. His collection represents some of the most exquisite antique French jewels available.
The antique Burmese Rubies in the necklace are absolutely stunning. Burmese Rubies are the rarest and most valuable rubies and they are highly coveted. Their gorgeous red color and beautiful fire make them one of the most stunning jewels. The value is determined by the color of the rubies with the dark pigeon blood red being the most valuable. These rubies are some of the most beautiful you will find. The rubies are set in a Belle Epoque design with a scroll and open work motif that is set throughout with gorgeous Rose Cut Diamonds. These Rose Cut Diamonds are characterized by GIA as "near-colorless" which is exceedingly rare. The pendant is accented by three pearls which are most likely natural pearls. The pendant is silver atop 18 Karat Gold as was the custom of the period. The pendant hangs from an 18 Karat Gold chain.

The central ruby: 3.92 x 3.34 x 2.52mm and .26 Carats.

Color: Purplish Red - Pigeon Blood
The two lower rubies are each approximately 3.5mm in diameter and total approximately .3 Carats.
Total Burmese Ruby weight: approximately .56 Carats.
Burma Ruby is the rarest and most valuable member of the corundum family. Colors range from pink red ruby to a vivid pigeon blood red that is regarded as the finest color for ruby. Prized for their beauty, durability, and rarity, it is the quality of the color which most determines the value of rubies.
The necklace is 16 1/2 inches (42 cm) long. The chain is a later addition.
The pendant is 1 1/8 inches (28mm) wide and 1 1/8 inches long.
