Imperial Jadeite Jade Pendant GIA Certified Untreated
About the Item
This imperial jade & diamond pendant is simple and perfect.
The mid-century (circa 1960s-1970s) pendant has been rendered in 18K white gold and set with a quarter-carat of small, bright round diamonds that do their job perfectly: they frame the magnificent marquise-shaped 12.76mm x 5.94mm double cabochon of natural and untreated Burmese jadeite in the most mesmerizing emerald green, glowing with near glass-like translucency. Jade this pure of tone and high in translucency is sometimes referred to as "imperial jade" and that is a fitting name for this small but regal pendant.
Including the bail, this pendant measures 26.46mm north to south, 9.76mm west to east. The bail's opening is wide is enough (2.43mm) for you to suspend this pendant from a weighty chain or length of black silk cord. The pendant does not carry a maker's mark but it is marked 750 for gold content. It's a finely made piece.
This magnificent and rare gem is endlessly beautiful. The chain you see in the pictures is not included. The pendant ships with a certificate from the GIA stating that the jade natural and untreated.
