About the Item

Created in the 1920s, this magnificent pendant features the very rarest of the rare: a GIA-certified natural and untreated jadeite jade that displays a rich, emerald green color and high translucency. Jade this fine is exceedingly rare and is known as "imperial jade." This imperial jade pendant was created by hand in the 1920s. The jade is prong-set into a platinum mounting that hangs freely from a diamond-set chevron. The jade measures 20.97 x 10.38 x 2.55mm thick and weighs 4.59 carats. The jade is succulent, a vivid and glassy emerald green: utterly breathtaking. The overall length of the necklace is 17.5". There are six old round brilliant diamonds set into each bar of the chevron and a single .10 carat diamond at the apex for a total of 13 diamonds weighing approximately .22 carats. The diamonds are near-colorless, adding just a touch of fire. Only the finest trace of any hallmarks remains, so it's impossible to say with certainty where the necklace was made, but the worn marks may be French, which is where I acquired it. While the jade is not large it is ravishing and it is exceptionally fine and rare. Making this original Art Deco pendant an absolute treasure. It ships with a certificate from the GIA stating that the jade is natural and untreated "A" jade.
