About the Item
This Art Deco pendant necklace —ablaze in old diamonds— features two of the rarest and most precious gems on earth: natural pearl and natural, untreated jadeite jade. The sleek and permanently stylish platinum Art Deco jewel is composed of two double-strands of platinum chain studded with 49 tiny natural saltwater pearls. The two chains meet at the corners of the rectangular platinum pendant, which is set with fifty-four bright white Old European cut diamonds that total approximately 2.25 carats. Despite so many blazing diamonds, the focal point here is really the GIA-certified natural (uncultured) 6.15mm saltwater pearl. This rare and magnificently luminous pearl is cream with pink overtone.
Suspended from the pendant is a translucent, rich emerald-green GIA-certified jadeite jade carving that is significantly older than the necklace as a whole. This jade amulet dates to the 19th century -most likely the mid-1800s- and retains its original polish.
The necklace has been finished with an utterly gorgeous almond-shaped platinum clasp set with a .33 carat old mine-cut diamond in the center, a pair of smaller old-mine diamonds on either side, and six rocky little single-cut diamonds.
The necklace measures 30.5" in length, and the pendant hangs down a further 2.25".
All of the platinum elements were created in the 1920s-1930s and assembled as a unified whole in the current era. The rich, emerald-green jade is hand-carved on both sides.
A spectacular, one-of-a-kind necklace created from the finest ingredients nature has to offer. The necklace ships with two individual GIA certificates -one for the natural pearl, and a second for the jade stating that it is also natural and untreated.
