About the Item
Danish jewelry artist Jorgen Jensen designed this elegant Space Age modernist collar pendant-necklace. The piece is all made in pewter with arctic blue poured glass cabochons. The artist's signature is at the back and reads Pewter - Jorgen Jensen - Denmark.
The necklace is in good condition, with minor wear on the metal.
Measurements: The collar circumference is 16.13 in (41 cm) - The pendant is 3.13 in high (7.9 cm) x 1.69 in wide (4.2 cm) - The necklace will fit a Small to Medium size neck.
Note: Jorgen Jensen (b. 1931, no relation to Georg Jensen's son of the same name) trained briefly at the Georg Jensen workshop and worked in Montreal and Stockholm before setting up an atelier in Copenhagen. He preferred working with pewter metal because it is pliable and easy to manipulate. "I like plain shapes and fine lines," he says. "The simpler the jewelry, the prettier."
