Mother-of-Pearl Gaming Counter Necklace with Gold, Silver, and Blackened Steel
About the Item
This striking pendant features a beautifully hand-carved, mother-of-pearl gambling counter set with 18k yellow gold and blackened silver. It is one of the larger pieces in our "Eastern Gates" Collection that features antique gaming counters and is inspired by the architecture of Ancient China. With motifs dating back to the 18th Century, these gaming "chips" were originally hand-carved in China for export to Britain, where they were used the way we would use a poker chip. (Please refer to the history of the gaming counter shown alongside the additional photographs of this piece.) This counter has an intricate floral design set against a striking blackened silver background, with an 18k yellow gold bail reminiscent of an exotic "gate." Blackened steel chain links with 18k yellow gold accents form an eye-catching tassel that hangs beneath the chip. Handcrafted by our Master Jewelers in Los Angeles, this beautiful piece of history is truly a conversation piece!
This pendant measures 1-3/4" in width and 4-1/2" in length from the top of the bail to the bottom of the tassels.
30" blackened steel chain is included.
We have a smaller version of this pendant that measures 1-1/2" in width, and 4" in length from the top of the bail to the bottom of the tassels. Smaller pendant available for separate purchase.
