14K Gold Opal and Seed Pearl Vintage Charm Pendant
About the Item
A 14 karat gold opal and seed pearl vintage charm pendant. This preloved charm has a floral leaf design set with two tiny seed pearls and two beautiful white opals. The frame is modelled into a triangle.
For centuries, opals were believed to bring good luck. The Romans thought that opals were one of the luckiest gemstones and a symbol of hope. In the Middle Ages, opals were believed to be bestowed with all the positive properties of colored gemstones due to its rainbow-like play of colour. Opals are still very popular these days. The charm comes without the chain.
Charms are wonderful to collect as wearable memories, it has a symbolic and often a sentimental value. Charms can be added to your necklace, charm bracelet or layered with your other favorites.
The charm is in good condition. I have to mention that the larger opal has a small chip below and the gold has a noticeable scratch at the back. These minor defects are not clearly visible when the jewel is worn. The charm measures 20 mm in length including bail, width 18 mm and weighs 1.48 grams. Larger opal 5 x 3 mm. Tested as 14K gold.
Most of our charms come with an open jump ring, which is used to attach them to a bracelet or necklace. We recommend this ring to be closed professionally by soldering them together before wearing - this can be done by your local jeweler.
The jewel will be beautifully gift-wrapped in a black and gold jewelry box.
