Sculptural Silver Jorma Laine Pendant on Sterling David-Andersen Neck Ring
About the Item
This deeply three-dimensional, abstract pendant was designed by Jorma Laine and made at the Finnish silver company Kultateollisuss Ky, in Turku and bears their hallmark. It comes together with a hammered sterling neck ring made by the Norwegian company David-Andersen, also marked, as the original owner wore them. There is an appealing strength to the raw, brutalist quality of this sculptural, modernist jewelry design.
The neck ring is sterling. The pendant is 830 silver. The "R7" part of the hallmark on the pendant indicates it was made in 1970. The neck ring is of a similar vintage.
