Victorian 2.32 Carat Diamond and 12k Yellow Gold Miniature Portrait Pendant

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian 2.32 cttw diamond and 12 karat yellow gold, silver set hand painted miniature portrait pendant; part of our diverse antique portrait jewellery collections This exceptional, fine and impressive antique pendant has been crafted in 12k yellow gold with a silver setting. The anterior and posterior faces of the pendant each display a finely hand-painted miniature depicting a portrait of a young child. The miniature paintings are held in 12k yellow gold frames. The anterior face of this Victorian pendant is encircled with twenty-nine impressive claw set Old European round cut diamonds, totalling 2.32 cttw. This impressive pendant suspends from a plain ring loop via a contemporary 18" 9ct yellow gold chain, securing to the reverse with a conventional spring-loaded bolt ring fastening. This antique portrait pendant with diamonds has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 12 karat gold and silver. This impressive pendant is supplied with an IDGL diamond grading report card. Condition This impressive original antique pendant is excellent quality, set with impressive high colour grade diamonds displaying a fine white colour, brilliance and presence. The original hand painted panels have some surface wear, as to be expected in keeping with age. The pendant is an excellent gauge of gold and silver and in excellent condition. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of Victorian jewellery. This stunning, fine and impressive aquamarine pendant has been crafted in 12k yellow gold with a silver setting. The central pierced decorated, quatrefoil-shaped frame displays a stunning feature collet set oval faceted cut aquamarine, encompassed with four pavé set eight cut diamonds, in addition to four individually collet set diamonds to the incurves. The impressive pear faceted cut aquamarine suspended from the terminal of the design is surmounted with a splayed scrolling frame incorporating three collet set eight-cut diamonds. The apex of the pendant is embellished with a stunning claw set round faceted cut aquamarine, accented with a floriated scrolling frame ornamented with eighteen pavé set diamonds. The lower portion of the floriated designs anchors two decorative chain supports for the lower articulated frames. The antique pendant suspends from a 10k yellow gold chain, securing to the reverse with a conventional spring-loaded bolt ring fastening; this chain can be fastened to allow the wearing length to be 16", 17" or 18".     This wonderful example of Victorian jewellery was created in 1876. It can be worn as a pendant or a brooch. Condition Report: Excellent The Details... Constructed from 9ct gold, this pendant features an oval porcelain plaque hand-painted with a miniature portrait. The reverse of the plaque is signed by the artist. Their name is difficult to decipher due to ageing. However, their initials appear to be L and M. It is dated 1876. The piece features a bail, so that it can be worn as a pendant. It also features a fastening mechanism, so that it may be worn as a brooch. The pin is attached to the brooch with a tube hinge and the brooch fastens with a traditional safety catch. The piece measures 5.5cm x 4.5cm. A Short History...
