For sale a delicate diamond and pearl pendant, featuring a beautiful floral design. The pendant is dated back to the mid 19th century, circa 1850s, the Victorian era. The four leaves in the center are decorated with 12 diamonds in rose cut style. They are set on a quilloché enamel patterns in vibrant green color. The bezel is integrated into a delicate white enamel. The frame of the pendant is made of another 12 rose cut diamonds; The total estimated weight of the diamonds is approximately 0.6ct. The diamonds are mounted first on silver and then backed with 18K yellow gold, which is typical to the Victorian era. The pearl at the bottom measures 5mm in diameter. Holding this magnificent pendant in hand, we realized that the art of the miniature painter, enameller, gem-setter and jewelry designer have come together to provide us a feast for the eyes. This very sentimental Victorian era cupid enameled pendant finds its own way to bring the color and emotions into a piece of jewelry. The pendant is made in 14k yellow gold (hallmarked), with a circle of natural seed pearls on the frame and a larger white pearl in the bow. The central enamel panel features two winged cupids. One with a red scarf holding an arrow and running toward the other one, who is waiting next to an urn decorated with pink and blue roses. A white dove standing between the two cupids is considered as a symbol of love and peace. The cupid on the left side of the scene wears a sky-blue scarf, with a rose garland in his hand. The sky is painted in pastel violetish blue, which adds extra harmony and romance into the story.
