Victorian sentiment pendant in gold and hair, 19th century
About the Item
Round 18k (750°/°°) yellow gold pendant featuring a 4-leaf clover motif in hair on one side and a monogram in hair with the letters R and G on the other.
This type of sentimental or mourning jewelry was fashionable from the 1820s until the Second Empire. Several examples similar to this one can be found in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the V&A in London.
French work circa 1870, Victorian period
Presence of an eagle head hallmark for 18-carat gold.
Good overall condition, with minor wear scratches.
