About the Item
A fine and impressive vintage 1.60 carat opal, pearl and 0.02 carat diamond, 9 karat yellow gold pendant/brooch; part of our diverse opal jewellery collections.
This fine and impressive vintage vintage pendant/brooch has been crafted in 9k yellow gold, replicating the details of a Victorian example.
The pierced decorated setting is ornamented with three feature claw set oval cabochon cut opals, in a trefoil style design.
The centre of this arrangement is embellished with a claw set 0.02ct transitional modern brilliant round cut diamond to the centre.
The feature arrangement is encompassed with a paralleling scalloped border embellished with fifteen seed pearls, graduating in size dependent on location.
The border is further embellished with three protruding bud decorated settings, each accented with pavé set pearls.
The lower portion of this impressive pendant/brooch is embellished with an articulating four-claw set cabochon cut opal terminal, completing the design.
This vintage opal brooch secures via a conventional hinged pin and safety clasp fastening to the reverse of the setting.
This versatile piece of jewellery can also be worn as a pendant, suspended from an 18' 9k yellow gold chain via a hinged bale to the reverse of the brooch.
This impressive vintage opal pendant/brooch is hallmarked to the reverse with the maker's mark (HBJ), the gold guarantee mark (crown), 9k gold fineness mark 375, the London Assay Office hallmark (leopard's head) and the date letter for 1986 (M), in addition to the gold guarantee mark (crown) and 9k gold fineness mark 375 to the pin.
This vintage brooch is supplied with an IDGL diamond and gemstone grading report card.

Condition
This stunning vintage brooch is excellent quality, set with impressive opals and seed pearls displaying fine colour and lustre.
The diamond displays a fine white colour and brilliance.
The pendant brooch is an excellent gauge of gold and is in excellent condition, with clear hallmarks to the reverse of the setting and pin.
