About the Item

Here we have a large and absolutely stunning vintage pendant that was crafted in solid 14k yellow and white gold. The pendant features a magnificent cameo of a veiled woman which was carved from a single large piece of natural opal. The woman's face has a frosted finish and displays the stone's translucent white base color while her veil is polished and shows off the stone's remarkable red, blue, and green play. The carving is prong set onto a field of solid 14k yellow gold with a very fine Florentine finish. Surrounding the carving and yellow gold field is a raised halo of round cut diamonds in solid 14k white gold four-prong baskets and at the top there is a fan-like channel of 5 tapered baguette cut diamonds. The 47 diamonds total approximately 3.60 carats in weight and are all very fine quality with near-colorless G to I color and mostly loupe-clean VS1 to SI1 clarity. This beautiful vintage statement piece comes with a new 14k yellow gold 20 inch fine cable link chain that is secured with a lobster claw clasp. The piece can also be worn as a brooch utilizing the pin on the back. This is a truly magnificent vintage piece in excellent condition; the opal is perfect with absolutely no crazing.
