Antique Art Deco Silver Lipstick Holder with Mirror Amethyst Cabochon
About the Item
This unusual lipstick box was was created in 1918 ca. It has been hand crafted out of silver and is marked 800 on the lipstick container. There is a n unidentified makers mark next to the silver content mark. On the opposite side the number 18 is engraved When the lid is pulled out a hinged mirror in a silver frame springs open. The frame around the mirror is engraved with a zig zag garland. A silver mounted amethyst cabochon is shifted upwards to reveal the lipstick.
The outside of the little vanity case is decorated with chased and engraved flowers. The Space behind the rectangular mirror is hollow and filled with a filling material to hold the mirror in place. The little vanity case has been photographed in its original condition. It will be cleaned and polished before it is sent off. The back right hand corner has been tested for metal content and is therefore a little rubbed,
