Antique Mid- 18th Century Gentlemens Miniature Shoe Snuff Box Coniferous Wood
About the Item
This beautiful snuffbox has been hand carved out of coniferous wood in the second half of the eighteenth century. The miniature version of a fashionable gentlemens shoe of mid 18th century shows flowers and foliage carved in relief. The sides of the snuffbox and the border on the top of the shoes are decorated with architectural motives. The lid on a wooden hinge is also decorated with architectural elements. The heal of the shoe is also is also decorated with a tread pattern.
