In the form of a butterfly with a strong resemblance to the European peacock butterfly.
The sides of the box with repousse floral and acanthus leaf devices.
Gilt to the interior.
Fully marked to the base.
Simply a wonderful antique German repousse silver box!

Condition Details:
There are some traces of gilding to the butterfly and a scratch to the base of the box. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some light dings and indentations here and there, some fine and light surface scratches, and other signs of light wear consistent with age.
