About the Item

In good vintage condition, this has a loop so can be worn as a pendant. A lovely foliate pierced decorated panel opens up. A vinaigrette is a small filigree container used to hold a perfume-soaked sponge or piece of cotton. Vinaigrette jewellery was worn by ladies during the Victorian era to mask unpleasant odours. It has an empty cartouche. Hallmarked: Made by George Unite & Sons in Caroline Street, Birmingham in 1897. In reasonable vintage condition commensurate with its age. The holder has two pockets and the original pad of Gold-lined paper and pencil. There is a some lead in the pencil.
