About the Item
Award winning “PINK MIST” Ladies Writing Implement on “Monstera Desk Base”
“Pink Mist” was designed and hand crafted by multi award-winning jeweler Paul Amey in Australia using a “skeleton” design. The pen is stamped with his registered makers mark and precious metal marks. The “Pink Mist” pen was constructed with over 140 hours labour and completed in April 2019. The desk base took an additional 137 hours and was completed in January 2021. All components of the pen and base were masterfully handcrafted by Paul Amey with no casting or 3D imaging used. Diamond and stone settings were all carried out by Paul Amey.
“Pink Mist” was the winner of the JDA Jewellery Design Awards in the “Precious Metal” category in October 2019.
Diamonds and keshi pearls adorn the 18K Yellow Gold pen with platinum overlay. “Pink Mist” features a monstera leaf pocket clip with the desk base reflecting the monstera leaf design in silver, yellow gold and diamonds.
“Pink Mist” showcases the following diamonds:
1 x 60pt pear shaped E SI1 GIA Certificate, 1 x 31pt pear shaped E VS,
1 x 20pt marquis shaped E VS, 5 x 25pt marquis shaped E VS, 1 x 8pt round white diamond,
14 x 5pt round white diamonds, 13 x 3pt round white diamonds, 16 x 2pt round white diamonds, 64 x 1pt round white diamonds and 25 x 1mm equaling 20pts round white diamonds.
4 x natural diamond colour enhanced pink diamonds equaling 30pts
8 x natural diamond colour enhanced pink diamond equaling 37.5pts
2 x 13pt, 1 x 6pt, 1 x 7pt, and 2 x 4pt Biron Lab artificial pink diamonds
The “Monstera” Desk Base for “Pink Mist” pen is made from:
Travertine stone cut and shaped by Paul Amey, tarnish resistant sterling silver, platinum, 18K yellow gold and pearls. The base also features diamonds that are all round brilliant white, being 1 x 38pt F SI, 1 x 24pt F SI, 1 x 22pt F SI, 1 x 13pt F SI, 2 x 7pt, 2 x 5pt F SI, 1 x 4pt F SI, 4 x 3pt F SI, 1 x 1pt F SI.

Paul Amey Jeweller
PAUL AMEY is an ARTIST, DESIGNER, MASTER GOLDSMITH and a fellow of the Gold & Silversmiths Guild of Australia. Paul Amey was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia with one grandfather a watchmaker, the other a jeweller. Jewellery was obviously in his blood! Paul has been a designer and manufacturing jeweller for over 50 years and is well renowned for his work in creating and producing beautiful high-quality jewellery with a dramatic flair completely by hand. Paul is still passionate about designing and producing special pieces. “I have fun with jewellery and so should customers - I give people choices they don’t get from other jewellers.” Paul has seen a great number of design changes and influences come and go, but he says “the fundamentals have always remained the same skilful design, excellent craftsmanship and an attention to detail.” Like the masters of old, using time-honoured techniques, he is creating modern masterpieces. “Each custom piece is crafted completely by hand, no computers, no mass production. My pieces are absolute original works of art, whether they be made from silver, gold or platinum.” Paul has a strong desire and flair for dramatic pieces, an early example being the making of the perpetual Western Australian Gold Swan Award. Also in recognition of his hand craftsmanship was the acceptance of his work by Sotheby's under its Art Category and recently being the recipient of two Precious Metal Awards.
