Russian Black lacquer wood and painting gilded Box
About the Item
Beautiful hand-painted lacquer box, rectangular profile. Russia
Wonderful piece of Russian craftsmanship. Painted lacquer boxes are one of the most typical Russian crafts, they are made of soft wood or paper mache and are painted with oil paints.
The lid of this little box is decorated with a very finely detailed representation in bright colors on a black lacquered background. It also has gold brush strokes. In this case you can see a bear hunting scene with three hunters on horseback and accompanied by dogs, within a leafy forest, probably a passage from some popular tale or legend. Profuse decoration of natural elements, such as trees and plants.
All sides are decorated with a refined continuous gold garland.
The interior of the box is lacquered in red. The painting has the signature of the craftsman and has a Russian certificate of authenticity with a number.
It is in very good condition, without dents and with a closure in perfect condition. It has a unique quality of varnishing and polishing. This box can be a very lovely gift or an excellent addition to your collection.
