Pair of Antique Silver Gilt Malachite Roman Emperors Busts


Silversmith Ignazio Borgognoni (active 1843-1865), Rome 1850 ca. The two busts depicting the Emperors Augusto and Caracalla mounted on a goat feet malachite base. The fastener of Caracalla's toga set with a round shape cabochon cut garnet. Under the base there is a Roman panoply decoration. Marked on the base with the maker’s mark and under the base with the Vatican marks. 21.5 cm height
