An interesting and unusual antique child’s teething rattle c.1800 formed of a piece of carved and polished rich orange coral (Corallium rubrum) mounted into a two-tone yellow gold rattle with mouth-piece formed of a whistle, the collar hung with six coral beads and round two gold bells and decorated with patterned bands. Accompanied by the original red leather case lined with cream silk.

Large spool in colored gold. It is embellished with openwork laurel garlands and a row of gradated ovals running down the center with a stylized floral motif in the center of each oval. A large, central oval is decorated with white gold crown surrounded by an acanthus leaf motif in several shades of gold on a matte gold background. A garland of laurel leaves encircles the rim of the spool. Both sides of the spool feature the same decoration. The spool separates into two pieces allowing a thread to be anchored to the interior. The thread can then be wound around the central shaft. The intricately sculpted grill on the interior serves to hold the thread when work is stopped. This spool was used as a lace-making tool, allowing its user to create knotted lace and bands of trimmings for decorative objects such as pillows, as well as for clothing. An exceptional, fine and impressive set of six antique 9 karat yellow gold buttons with golfing interest - boxed; an addition to our jewelry collection.
This exceptional set of six antique Edwardian shank buttons has been crafted in 9k yellow gold.
Each hallmarked gold button has a circular form, ornamented with an impressive cast golfing scene depicting a male in full-swing, with a golf course terrain in the background.
The reverse of each antique button is plain and unembellished, apart from the gold fineness hallmark '9k'.
Each impressive piece is accommodated with a yellow gold split ring.
The components of this exceptional set are fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box, with a satin and velvet lined interior and securing with a push fit catch.

A jewelled gold trompe l’oeil scent bottle, attributed to Fabergé, in the form of a paint tube with detachable cover, all finely engraved to imitate snake-leather texture, the front applied with a label featuring a lucky horse-shoe, encrusted with small rubies, sapphires and rose-cut diamonds, mounted in yellow gold with oval pendant loop, bearing indistinct marks, circa 1890, measuring 5 x 1.6cm, gross weight 10.9 grams.
