Louis XV Lion Mantel Clock Gilded Bronze, circa 1770
About the Item
Eye-catching gilded bronze lion mantel clock, Louis XV, circa 1770.
3.5 inch enamel dial; bell striking movement with flat-bottomed plates and outside countwheel.
The drum case surmounted by a putto draped with a lion's pelt and raised on the back of a lion standing on a rocaille base, its paw resting on a ball. The ebonized plinth applied with a guilloche mount and paterae.
With pendulum and winder.
