A fine antique sterling silver sash buckle. With etched decoration to the front. These buckles were de rigueur accessories during the Edwardian period. Marked to the reverse with Sterling / 2690 / a Blackinton B impaled by a sword. Simply a great Edwardian silver buckle! Date: Late 19th or Early 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There are some light scratches throughout and a few small spots of persistent tarnish. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Fineness: Marked Sterling for silver fineness. Marks: Marked to the reverse with Sterling / 2690 / a B impaled by a sword. Measurements: Width: ca. 3 in.
