About the Item
This antique 18ct gold Keeper ring is an absolute dream!
This is one of the best keeper rings I have come across with it's interesting and unique pillowy knot design and superbly rich 18ct yellow gold.
It is super chunky with a good weight and full hallmarks and it wears so well!
The keeper ring is a classic and highly sought after ring style and there are a number of stories behind the origins of the keeper ring stretching far back to the Georgian eras.
One was that they were worn as guard rings when jewels were worn over gloved hands, another and perhaps the most commonly known is that they are used to hold or keep more expensive rings in place by wearing them above.
The other and the most romantic version of the origin is that they were worn as pre marriage rings, basically saying that the intended wearer was a keeper.

Fully hallmarked for 18ct gold, Birmingham Assay office, 1904, Edwardian era
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some light surface wear commensurate with age, the front has punched through holes in the pillowy knot sections but this is the design of the ring.
Approx weight: 7.41g.
Ring face approx 9.6mm length, 4mm band width.
