C1840 15K Regard Ring with Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby, Diamond

About the Item

Romantic 15K gold "Regard" ring set with a Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby and Diamond. The first letters of the stones spell the word "regard" using the first letter of each stone. Hence 'r'uby, 'e'merald, 'g'arnet, 'a'methyst, 'r'uby and 'd'iamond. Acrostic rings that spell out romantic sentiments were very much a Victorian construct and among the charming features of the period. We love the large stones on this regard ring and the gold details around the stones, such as the small bolds circling the top and bottom of the band. The ring is hallmarked for Birmingham, England, is a size 7 1/2 and measures 3/16" wide. It can be resized.
