About the Item
Rare Victorian romantic message ring "I Cling to Thee" with ivy trailing along the band. The meaning of ivy in Victorian times was fidelity, immortality and wedded love, and comes from the plant's habit of clinging to nearby structures.
Message rings were an important Victorian construct to convey love and sentiment, and "I Cling to Thee" rings are rare, especially in 18K. There is an 18K stamp slightly visible on the band.
This ring would make a great gift for an engagement ring, wedding band, or to simply commemorate the occasion of a special anniversary.
The ring is a size 7 3/4 US.
