This incredulous Mughal era style hand-made polki diamond ring with blue, red and white enamel is impressive. The uneven pear cut flat polki diamond solitaires set in gold bezel setting surround and hold the bigger center uneven emerald cut polki solitaire diamond. The polki diamonds together form a flower with the outer edges of the ring’s gallery enclosed in a thin gold box covering the polki diamonds along with the layer of gorgeous enamel work, making the look more articulate.
The ring’s broad graduating band is the artistic highlight of the ring. The band is fully enameled in royal blue meena with floral and leaf engraving on top of the blue enamel through the exposed thin yellow gold outlines with pinky-red and white enamel. This kind of Meena/enamel form is also called “Panch Rangi Meena,” inspired by the several colors of enamel used to create the overall look. It’s a very intricate work by the engraver, as several layers of enamel coloring take place to elevate the ring.
The solid 22k gold is purposely used in these enamel/meena pieces, as the meenakari shows the best on gold as it has a natural sheen that sets off the colours of Meenakari beautifully. It also holds the enamel better and adds shine to it. This sensational ornate solitaire polki diamond and panch-rangi enamel ring is for all to wear.
