Antique 3.24 Carat Diamond & Palladium Cocktail Ring

About the Item

A stunning, fine and impressive vintage palladium dress ring with 3.24 carat (total) antique diamonds; part of our antique and vintage jewelry collections This stunning, fine and impressive diamond dress ring has been crafted in palladium*. The vintage (circa 1940) pierced decorated elongated oval frame is ornamented with five feature antique (circa 1890) Old European cut diamonds displayed in a vertical arrangement. Amalgamating antique and vintage elements to produce a single item of jewellery was common practice in the mid 1900's. The feature design is accented with eight Dutch cut diamonds, pavé set in pairs between each of the Old European cut diamonds. Thirty-two Old European cut diamonds create the surrounding border, which is further enhanced with millegrain decoration. The elevated ring shoulders flare in a shaped, trifurcating manner at the junction with the frame. The shoulders are accented with a simple cuff design as they merge into the plain palladium ring shank. This impressive diamond ring is supplied with an independent diamond grading certificate along with an independent diamond grading report card for the supporting diamonds. The ring has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as palladium*. NOTE *In the mid 1900s jewellery bands were made out of the precious metal palladium as an alternative to platinum. Until the early 2000s palladium was more expensive than platinum.
