About the Item

Old ring with ornamental open work crown, band tested solid 14K Rose Gold . No hallmarks, ca. late 19th - early 20th cent. Crown with stones is 18 mm x 8 mm at axes x 4.5 mm deep. Front side in Silver. Largest stone is old European diamond cushion cut ca. 3 mm x 2.5 mm x 2mm deep / 0.15ct . Two other stones are of old European diamond cushion cut ,each Ø 2.75 mm x 2mm deep / ca. 0.1 ct each. Total weight of stones ca. 0.35 ct . Color ca. I,H / VS Size : Ø 9.25 US / 19.22 mm. Can be sized. Weight: 2.8 grams. Fine used condition. Natural patina on metals. > Most of the items that we sell are not new at all if not stated otherwise. Gemstones may often look differently in different light and weather conditions and time of the day, both indoors and outdoors. Stones of the rings photographed alone may look a bit differently when on hand because your finger makes the back side of the stone closed and light no longer can go through and the color becomes different. Stones with closed backs may seem darker than stones with open backs. Such nuances of color perception do not give any excuse to claim item to be not as described. Some buyers tried to make return of the items and to avoid paying shipping and restock expenses claimed that : " color is different from that on image .. " there are inclusions that I didn't notice " "it looks smaller than I expected" .. Unfortunately Internet sales do not allow us to see the items in person before we get them by post. Polishing of the band is always a final step of any resizing but machinery used for polishing causes vibration that old rings (with prongs for example ) often do not like at all. It is often difficult or impossible to get an accurate characteristics of the weight , color and nature of inclusions without removing the stones from the settings to be weighed and examined and doing that may damage the piece.
