Edwardian Ruby and Diamond Cluster Ring
About the Item
An Edwardian ruby and diamond cluster ring, the oval-cut ruby with estimated weight of 1 carat, accompanied by GCS Report stating to be of Burmese origin with no indication of heating, vertically set between two old brilliant-cut diamonds each estimated to weigh 0.35 carats, with ten further old-cut diamonds forming a cluster, diamonds estimated to weigh a total of 1.1 carats, set in platinum and 14ct yellow gold, circa 1910, head measuring 1.7x1.4cm, finger size N1/2, gross weight 3.3 grams.
This ring is in very good condition. Unmarked, metal tested as 14ct gold and platinum.
This striking Edwardian ring is truly stunning. This ring, made in around 1910, comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. The impressive central Burmese ruby is the focal point of this ring: it is a wonderful stone with a bright and vivid colour. Surrounding this ruby are twelve lively diamonds that form a lozenge shape around the oval ruby. While the superb ruby is the focal point of this ring, the diamonds add to the splendour of the piece. This piece would make a perfect and unique engagement ring.
